Tried and Tested

We know it can be a bit tricky finding the right spots to visit with your furry bestie – especially when you're not quite sure how welcome you’ll *both* be. And while there are plenty of sites out there listing dog-friendly venues, many now charge to be included, and rarely tell you what to actually expect once you get there.

That’s exactly why this page exists.

It’s a space for our dog-loving community to discover truly dog-friendly places – not just in name, but in spirit – and to get a feel for which ones are going the extra mile for you and your pup.

If you do visit any of the places we mention, or try out one of the recommended services, we’d *love* to hear how it went! Pop us a message (and some cute pics, please!) at: **[woof@pupdates.com.au](mailto:woof@pupdates.com.au)**

Just so you know – Pup Dates doesn’t take commissions or payments from any of the venues or suppliers listed here. Every recommendation comes straight from our team or trusted Pup Dates community members. If we haven’t personally checked it out, it doesn’t make the list.

We’re honest, always. If a venue didn’t quite hit the mark, we’ll let you know. And if it was paws-itively brilliant? You’ll hear about that too.

Wow! That is all You Can Say About Degen Wines

Degen Wines

365 Deasys Road
Pokolbin NSW 2320

Open 10am - 4pm Fri - Sun

Wow! Is the only word from the gorgeous views through picture glass windows going across the vineyards to the mountains, to the beautifully crafted table with sparkling crystal glasses and fresh cut home grown roses, to the warmth and hospitality of Sasha and her husband and the gorgeous tasting plates Degen Wines is truly special.

From the moment we entered the genuine country welcome was felt by all we were then spellbound with lovingly crafted wines, great stories and some fun lessons about wines including how to swirl the wine in your glass Hunter Valley style.

Our pups had a ball checking out the paddocks city dogs with paddocks to explore resulted in lots of wagging tails.

Degen Wines is truly and exceptional venue and one that will leave you with treasured memories our recommendation is to not miss this winery I know we will definitely be back.

We cannot thank Sasha and her husband for all they did to make us feel so incredibly welcome and for giving us such a special experience.

Scramble and Bean

7 Waratah Street

RUSCHCUTTERS BAY

Open

7am - 2.30pm every day

Beside the tennis courts and oval at Rushcutters Bay a truly beautiful spot with great reasonably priced food beside the harbour set in a dog friendly park now a huge confession beside one of Sydney's most scenic parks. Sitting at Scramble and Bean with their excellent service, pretty venue, views, and food is always a delight however, on the weekend with the live acoustic music at lunch time it really comes into its own. Please do not ask me what my favourite dish is as this is one place that I have a hard time trying to decide what I am going to order as it is all so good.

Whilst you cannot book online or via phone I have heard if you walk in you can book a table for later. So why not grab a coffee, book a table and take your furry bestie for a walk through the park checking out the views, incredible yachts and gorgeous homes then head back and have a lovely lunch whilst listening to their talented singers and musicians - bliss

There is parking available in all the streets around Rushcutters Bay Park.

After the gorgeous pizza at The Palms we decided to keep on driving and see what else we could find after checking out Palm Beach found The Joey late in the afternoon perched on their deck overlooking the water with the sun starting to set and the biggest serving of a creamy rich and decadent tiramisu I have ever seen (it came in a mixing bowl!! A very beautiful mixing bowl) with some coffee it was the greatest way to catch up with my gorgeous friend with Romeo relaxing beside me and one of the hardest places to leave.

Dogs are welcome in all outdoor areas the upper deck is covered.
